Service Opportunities
FCCIOC is deeply appreciative of those who give of their time and effort to help the church operate smoothly and efficiently. The following ministries fall under this category:
Altar Counselors Ministry
Counselors have been trained to minister to new believers during salvation invitations as well as actively follow up with each new convert through telephone calls and personal contact.
Audio Ministry
Our Audio Ministry volunteers are charged with operating the sound system as well as obtaining master tapes of the services held on Sunday morning and evening, Wednesday evening, and other services throughout the year. You may purchase tapes of Sunday morning, evening and Wednesday night sermons for $4.00 per single tape. CDs of Sunday morning sermons are also available for $6.00 each. Cassette tapes of that day’s sermon are available immediately after the service at the Tape Ministry area in the lobby. Orders for other services may be placed and picked up in that area also.
Faith Christian Book Store
Christian books, Bibles, tapes, CDs, T-shirts and other items are available for purchase prior to and after every service.
Media Sales
Several volunteers make themselves available to the congregation for the duplicating of tapes and taking of orders for tapes, CDs, videos and DVDs. We ask that order blanks be filled out and payment made at the time of ordering. In addition, Pastor Tapscott has several tape and CD series for sale in the lobby. You may take your purchase to the Tape Ministry area to make payment for any series.
Video Ministry
Sunday morning services, and some special services, are taped for airing on several television stations throughout the country. DVD’s are offered for $10.00. DVD orders may be placed at the Tape Ministry area in the lobby. Allow one week before pick up.
Ushers
As Ushers, the “Servants of God are led to keep our pastor, leaders, and the whole body of Christ lifted up in prayer.” Their task is to ensure the comfort of our pastors and congregation and maintain order at all times. They always strive to be obedient to the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit sometimes shows them people in need of prayer or a touch of love as they come through the door. As servants of God, their goal is also to follow Christ and allow Him to make them fishers of men (Mark 1:17).
Greeters
While seemingly a small ministry in the shadow of other larger ministries within the church, the Greeters ministry is, nonetheless, of great significance. The secular world realizes there is no second chance to make a good first impression, and it is no less true in today’s church world!
In its scope it is a social ministry dealing with the issues of a welcoming smile, a hug, a warm hello, and providing directions toward the sanctuary, children’s classrooms, coat racks, etc. It is a ministry of humbleness; a ministry Jesus would have enjoyed.
Security Team
On Sunday mornings and at larger church services, we call upon the assistance of a small group of men who serve the congregation by overseeing activity in the parking lot and inside the building. They are there to direct cars when there is an overflow parking situation, to ensure that children are where they are supposed to be, and to maintain general security on the property.
